Terms&Conditions - Award Flights

Process for Award bookings: Award booking is an automatic process and an e-ticket is sent to the email adress that was given in the booking process. If you don´t have enough of Award Points or we are not able to process the Credit card the booking is cancelled and the member will receive an E-mail which states the reason for the cancellation. Please look at our Terms before you book!

Booking Class: Economy Class/Economy Comfort/Saga Class.

Advance Booking: Advance booking is required on Economy Class. The booking advance to/from Europe is 6 days and to/from USA 11 days.

Members have to book a return ticket. 

Minimum Stay: When booking Economy Class the minimum stay is Sunday. Economy Comfort and Saga Class have no minimum stay.

Maximum Stay: One Year

Taxes and other Charges: Members are personally responsible for payment of airport taxes and fuel charges relating to Award travel, and for other charges not included in the airfare. 

Validation: An Award ticket is valid for one year from the original date of travel and expired tickets cannot be renewed.

Changes: Icelandair flights may be changed after tickets have been issued. A handling charge of either ISK 10,000 or 12,000 Award Points will be made in such cases. The destination and the date can be changed but the name on an Award Ticket can never be changed.

Refund: Award Tickets can not be converted back into Award Points.

Award Offers: Award Offers are valid for a given time, advertised specially with each offer.

Discount for children: Children aged 0-2 years need 10% of the full adult points requirement and children aged 2-15 years 50% of the full adult points requirement (child must be under 16 yers of age on the date of travel).

To buy Award Points: With the Saga Club Buy program, you can purchase up to 60,000 Saga Club Award Points per member, per calendar year. Maximum 20.000 Award points can be bought in one transaction.  Now if you're close to reaching an award, the Saga Club BUY program lets you purchase the points you need to reach your goal and claim an award. Please allow 24 hours for the points to post to your account.

Award flights may under no circumstances be sold. Icelandair reserves
the right to cancel Award flights that have been wrongfully obtained.
Unwillingness to comply with these terms, as well as other Icelandair
Customer Club terms, can lead to confiscation of a member's card and
cancellation of points.

Members do not earn Award Points or Card Points for Award Bookings.
